Hello, Hafa Adai, Aloha, Tirow and Kaselhlia
|
Mahalo and
thanx for visiting my web site. I trust that you'll enjoy the fun, romance and adventure
that await you from page to page and that you'll develop an understanding and an
appreciation about how wonderful and exhilarating island life can be. Make some
mental notes so that the next time you're sitting on a smoggy, crowded freeway,
you can let your mind drift away to the beautiful tropics for a short respite.
We have always been fascinated and attracted to islands from famous novels and movies
such as Treasure Island, Typee, Mutiny on the Bounty, Robinson Crusoe, and the Pirates
of the Caribbean; and we've always anxiously anticipated the arrival of our favorite
magazines such as National Geographic, Budget Travel and Islands.
"Movin' On" is about a deputy sheriff who managed to travel to Saipan from Los Angeles,
and "Continuin' On" follows his story from buying an old dilapidated hotel to starting
a Private Investigations Agency. "Ramblin' On" takes the investigators to Pohnpe
and Chuuk in search of an errant governor. "Moon Over Manila" is a love story between
an American archaeologist and a Filipina model; and "Hawaiian Paniolo" is about
a Civil War veteran who finds romance and excitement along the trail and ends up
working as a cowboy on the huge Parker Ranch. "Christmas in the Tropics" is about
the gathering of a large family on Yap for the special holidays. "The Royal Headley
of Pohnpei" tells the story of the prominent Hadley family in Micronesia, complete
with missionaries, skulguggery, and pirates." Well, regarding "The Mystery Hotel,'
you'll have to sort that one by yourself.
Just click on the above buttons that interest you, such as contact, buy the books,
links to other authors and island sites, and of course, send along your suggestions,
comments, and ideas to me. I would love to hear from you.
Muchas gracias, mis amigos. Have a great day. Find your flip-flops and start packing.
The sunny, sandy beach awaits your smiling faces.
For you travelers, GUINESS lists Saipan as having the best, most equitable weather
in the world.

Books by Joe Race are sem-biographical and introspective following his days as a
former California cop, who relocated to Saipan to become a hotel owner and private
investigator. His books are funny and very down-to-earth - good reading.
- Mar-Vic Cagurangan, Journalist
Your books are some of the best reading that I can remember. The stories are so realistic
that I wanted to book the Oceanfront Suite at Tom Parker's hotel. I really enjoy
Carlos, the Chamorro warrior, as he calmly goes about investigating the BS jerks.
Keep the novels coming; they "MAKE MY DAY!"
- Billy Malone, Ret. LA Sheriff
"Joe's novels touch the hearts and souls of his readers. There's always a taste of
the islands and the beauty of tropical life. The stories are told in such a relaxing,
natural way. Within a few pages, "Royal Headley" took me away to the lush jungles
of Pohnpei..."
- Patcher Coral, #22, LA
Continuin' On - Joe Race is a born storyteller...Are you listening, Hollywood? This
guy has the plots you need! - "Last Mohican"
...makes the reader want to grab his passport and join Joe and his cast of loveable
and believable characters.
- John L. Eisler, Author
Joe is one hell of a writer. Am enjoying 'Ramblin' On' immensely. Updike is dead
- long live Joe Race!
- Russ Mason, Author
